Roasted Chili-Lime Cashews

July 23, 2013

Roasted Chili Lime Cashew / blog.jchongstudio.com
there is a thai restaurant in long beach that my friends and i go to all the time after we play volleyball on the weekend. they have this amazing roasted thai chili pepper (among lots of other tasty things...). i love the pepper so much i asked if they sold it, and they brought over a little container just for me. i use it in a lot of my dishes at home, i love a little bit of kick in my food. here are some roasted chili lime cashews you might enjoy as well. you can find thai chili pepper at the asian markets or buy the roasted whole peppers and grind them up. enjoy!

Sightglass Coffe | San Francisco

July 18, 2013

Sightglass Coffee / blog.jchongstudio.com
growing up i used to have a dream that i would one day open my own coffee shop with a home/market shop on the side. it would be a place for people to meet and work as well as a place to buy tasty eats and accessories for the home. the dream sort of passed but if it ever came back, i'd want to the space to look like sightglass coffee.

i instantly fell in love with the space when i was visiting on my last trip to san francisco. it's an open space with two floors, filled with lots of natural light. i had some coffee with a friend but i lingered and just enjoyed the space. somehow being there just made me feel inspired – do you ever feel like that about a shop you're visiting?

Mango Shrimp Summer Roll / Flavors of Summer with P.F. Changs {CONTEST}

July 10, 2013

Mango Shrimp Summer Roll / #pfcsummer
have you guys seen p.f. chang's new summer menu? the summer vegetable quinoa 'fried rice' that's topped off with an egg looks amazing and i'd really like to have the heirloom tomato and thai basil salad for lunch today. everything from their summer menu looks light and refreshing and of course, asian inspired meals are always some of my favorite.

p.f. chang's invited me to create a summer dish inspired by some of their summer seasonal ingredients. how could i say no? so many wonderful things like mangos, avocados, and pineapple! i swear i could put those into any meal and be really happy.

growing up my mom wasn't much of the cook, my dad did most of the cooking in the house, but every now and then my mom would make egg rolls and spring rolls and she would let my sister and i help. it was one of my favorite things to do. i always wanted to wrap every roll perfectly. today i decided to share with you a mango shrimp summer roll i created with some of these tasty summer ingredients. it's easy to make and quite refreshing on a warm summer day!
