somewhere within the last two years i've started to be drawn to all things gold and metallic. here are some of my gold favorites.

last weekend - in preparation for my trip to manchu picchu some friends and i did a ten mile hike up to mt. baldy. the hike is definitely a butt kicker but the views on this hike are one of the best. it never fails i've always seen pretty blue skies on this hike.
i've completely fallen in love with harlex etsy shop. a husband and wife duo based out of hong kong. you can see the love and craft in every piece in their shop. i need to add alot of these items to my wishlist!
looking forward to a weekend at home before i start traveling again. sadly i had to turn down an awesome food adventure this weekend – but hoping that the opportunity arrives again. wishing you all a wonderful weekend!
everyone knows i'll travel for food, but i hardly ever explore my own backyard. at last cafe is only a few miles away from my house, and i've heard raves about the brick chicken from james. friday night – sarah and i headed over to try the famous brick chicken and mac n'cheese with ham. the chicken was tender and juicy but i wished the skin was crispy like aframe's beer can chicken, but still delicious. our favorite was definitely the mac n'cheese though, cheesy but not overly cheesy, and the chunks ham was the perfect touch. for dessert we ordered orangeade cheesecake [definitely recommended!] and strawberry shortcake [will pass next time]. overall a good meal in my backyard.
one of the my favorite highlights from the weekend was getting brunch at whisknladle in la jolla. we sat out on the patio – and the day was absolutely perfect. we shared the porchetta + egg tartine and the ricatta lemon meyer w/blueberry pancakes. the porchetta was perfect and one of my favorite dishes from the entire weekend – a savory open faced french toast with hint of maple syrup. the pancakes were also delightful not too sweet as some may think – they were both the best brunch duo. the service was one of the best i've had in a while (ask for colin!) – i would definitely recommend it for anyone who is in the area.
what a wonderful weekend with sarah – filled with lots of laughter, good food and beautiful scenery. as always we had some awesome food adventures! here is a photo from la jolla beach, san diego where sarah will be a resident of one day ;)
i love everything about this dotted 23k gold mug. they are so pretty.. i would probably never use them. you can purchase them at bailey doesn't bark.
i love food. love love love food. beautiful foodtography captures by tara donne
lovely camera strap from union los angeles. (it's amazing how some of the simplest things can cost so much!)
i've followed rosie hardy on flickr for a while now and i absolutely love her images and processing. typically im not a big fan of overly processed images, but rosie's seems to get it just right for me. not only does she have amazing photos but she is beautiful and has a great self portrait series. you can check out more of her work on flickr or rosiehardy.com
for the past few weeks i've been on a health kick trying to recover from all the not so healthy things i've been eating while friends were visiting. i've been doing a really good job... but i felt like i needed something sweet (plus i have to get my stomach ready for SN's visit!) i got a smores cupcake (graham cracker cake with milk chocolate buttercream topped with a toasted marshmallow) from frosted cupcakery. it's the flavor of the month so get it before it is gone!
meet olivia - the cutest baby ever - daughter of my friend sophia lee. these were a few pictures i took of her she was visiting in san diego. she has so many expression - it's so adorable. i mean really - how can this face not make you smile! anyhow wishing everyone a wonderful weekend!
loving all the things from the old faithful shop – great package design and accessories.
i've been eyeing these eames plastic style arm chairs for a long time but still haven't been able to pull the trigger because of the $500 price tag. there are a few sites that make replicas for half the price. even though i really want the original eames... i am curious to see how the replicas stand up next to the real things.
